"비록 아들의 영이 모든 육체에 쏟아졌다 해도, 비록 아들이 한때 모털 육체의 유사성 속에서 너와 함께 거주했다 해도, 비록 세라핌이 개인적으로 너를 수호하고 지도한다 해도, 이들 신성한 존재의 누군가가 어떻게…. 너에게 가까이 오기를 바랄 수 있거나, 그 자신의 일부가 너 안에 존재하도록, 너의 참되고 신성하며, 심지어 너의 영원한 자아가 되게 해준 아버지처럼 완전하게 너 이해하기를 바랄 수 있는가?" 

 

“Even though the spirit of a Son be poured out upon all flesh, even though a Son once dwelt with you in the likeness of mortal flesh, even though the seraphim personally guard and guide you, how can any of these divine beings ... ever hope to come as near to you or to understand you as fully as the Father, who has given a part of himself to be in you, to be your real and divine, even your eternal, self?”
