너는 너의 하루의 몇 순간을 택하고, 이 점을 숙고해 보라고 초대받고 있는데, 네가 너의 존재/삶을 네가 보통 하는 것을 하면서 돌아다니는, 네가 너 주변의 삶들로 미치는 그 영향력을 완전히 이해하지 못하는 너 자신을 상상할 수 있음을 말이다. 여기 하나의 미소가, 저기 하나의 끄덕임이, 단지 올바른 시간에 주어진 하나의 친절한 말이 실로 하나의 생명을 구할 수 있다. 그것이 심오하지 않으냐?

 

네가 너 주변에 있는 자들에게 갖는 그 영향력에 대한 의식적인 앎을 가질 때, 너의 생각과(그리고 느낌들이) 다른 모양을 취하기 시작할 것이다. 더 부드러워지고, 더 많은 이해로 너는 일어날 것이다. 만약 네가 마치 네가 보이지 않은 듯이 보이는 외로운 자 중 하나라고 느낀다면, 배려하는... 너와 네가 여행하는 방향을 배려하는 인간들이 있다는 그러한 다정하고, 미묘한 표시를 찾는 것을 기억해라. 가장 친애하는 이들아, 기억해라, 너희는 같은 수평선을 향해 항해하는 같은 배에 타고 있다는 것을. 지금은 포함과 함께함을 위한 시간이고, 그 연결성을 포옹할 시간이다! - 창조자

 

You are being invited to take a few moments of your day and ponder this; you may imagine yourself wandering through your existence, doing what you normally do and not fully understanding the impact you have on the lives around you. A smile here, a nod there, a kind word given at just the right time may, indeed, save a life. Profound, is it not?

When you have a conscious awareness of the impact you have on those around you, your thinking (and feelings) will begin to take a different shape. A softer, more understanding you will emerge. If you feel as if you are one of the lonely ones that seems to be invisible, remember to look for those sweet, subtle signs that there are humans who care…care about you and the direction you are traveling.
