개인적 체험의 신 The God of Personal Experience

 

"종교적 체험의 사실은 신을 암시하며, 그러한 개인적 체험의 신은 개인적인 신이 틀림없다.  너는 화학적 공식으로 기도할 수 없고, 수학적 등식으로 탄원할 수 없으며, 가설을 숭배하고, 어떤 사실의 가정으로 고백할 수 없으며, 어떤 과정을 공유할 수 없고, 어떤 추상으로 봉사할 수 없으며, 또는 어떤 법칙과 사랑스러운 동료애를 가질 수 없다."

 

“The fact of religious experience implies God, and such a God of personal experience must be a personal Deity. You cannot pray to a chemical formula, supplicate a mathematical equation, worship a hypothesis, confide in a postulate, commune with a process, serve an abstraction, or hold loving fellowship with a law.”
